The Ministry of Commerce, Government of Pakistan, Islamabad, invites applications from eligible government officers (BPS-18 to BPS-20), private sector professionals, and members of the Pakistani diaspora meeting the required eligibility criteria for selection as Trade and Investment Officers (TIOs) in Pakistan’s Trade Missions abroad.

To ensure a transparent and merit-based selection process, the Ministry of Commerce has partnered with the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), a leading non-profit university, to conduct the written and psychometric tests for the selection of TIOs. A team of senior faculty members at LUMS will design, administer, and grade these tests, ensuring that results are reported to the Ministry with the utmost professionalism and impartiality. Eligibility Criteria:

Government officers (BPS-18 to BPS-20) from all occupational groups of the Civil Service of Pakistan are eligible to apply if they have served in relevant positions for at least three (3) of the last ten (10) years within the Office of the Prime Minister, specific Federal Government ministries, or provincial departments. Private Sector and Pakistani Diaspora Candidates who hold a master’s degree in specified fields with a minimum of 75% marks or an equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) and possess relevant post-qualification experience in fields such as marketing, sales, business, international marketing, international trade, or investment are also eligible to apply (refer to policy guidelines for details). Pakistani diaspora candidates may apply for positions in the country of their nationality and/or their country of residence, provided they have a minimum of six (6) months of resident status in that country. About this Portal:

This portal has been launched to facilitate the written and psychometric tests for the selection of TIOs. It provides detailed information for candidates, including the registration process, eligibility and ineligibility criteria, online application form, application deadlines, syllabus and sample tests, important dates, and other relevant details. Written Test Details:

The written test will be held at designated centers in Pakistan and abroad. For public and private sector candidates, the test will take place in Islamabad. For Pakistani diaspora candidates, the test will be conducted at designated centers within Pakistan’s missions abroad (details to be notified later).

Psychometric Test Details:

Candidates who achieve a minimum score of 60% in the written test will qualify for the psychometric test. The psychometric test will be held at the LUMS campus in Lahore.

Eligibility and Screening Process:

The eligibility and ineligibility criteria for public sector, private sector, and Pakistani diaspora candidates have been exclusively determined by the Ministry of Commerce and outlined in their official advertisement. The LUMS test team will collect applications through this portal and surface mail. The Ministry of Commerce will verify the applications based on the information provided and share the final list of eligible candidates with the LUMS test team. The LUMS test team will then communicate the eligibility outcomes to the candidates.

Test Results and Interview Phase:

The results of the written test will be announced on this web portal, where candidates can log in to their respective accounts to view their detailed marks and the overall result. The results of the written and psychometric tests will also be submitted to the Ministry of Commerce.

The interview phase for candidates who pass the written test and complete the psychometric test will be conducted and scheduled exclusively by the Ministry of Commerce. LUMS, its faculty, and staff will have no involvement or oversight in the interview process.
